Roberto de Visiani's Park is one of the most beautiful Dalmatian parks in which the culture of park and landscape are combined; richness and diversity of Mediterranean flora, and on the other hand, a man who celebrated Šibenik in the past – Roberto de Visiani, a renowned explorer of our flora and reformer of the oldest botanical garden in Europe, the one in Padua.
Roberto de Visiani's Park is one of the most beautiful Dalmatian parks in which the culture of park and landscape are combined; richness and diversity of Mediterranean flora, and on the other hand, a man who celebrated Šibenik in the past – Roberto de Visiani, a renowned explorer of our flora and reformer of the oldest botanical garden in Europe, the one in Padua.
The park was built around 1895 and is located in the center of the city between Poljana and Šibenik waterfront. It was thoroughly renovated in 1995 when the park space was mostly occupied by Mediterranean plants. It is particularly beautiful during the Advent season when the Šibenik Christmas Fair is held there.
